Great video. I have a Mach E. The Lyric and all EVs are not for the impatient and lazy people like me. 😢 Around town, they’re great. Road trips are an all-consuming, mind-bending, nail biting nightmare!

The Escalade (IMO) is by far the best GM product to ever exist. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Escalade since it has better looks, and tech. But the Tahoe/Yukon are nice as well.

It's pretty hilarious to see the huge difference in comment sections where EV drivers are talking about their actual experience, versus where people who have never driven an EV are making comments about EVs. (Or, dare I say, perhaps where people have been directed to make comments on behalf of someone) EV owners tend to be very happy with their cars. Even in the case of GM and Ford, where road tripping is a bit weak compared to Tesla or Rivian, still the Lyriq and Bolt and Mach-e and Lightning drivers almost unanimously love their cars / trucks. The contrast between people who have the experience, and those who don't, is really stark.

Does the z06 have shipping blocks

on the lyriq, the 20" wheels vs the 22" , range cost and ride comfort compromis?

The Z06 looks STUPID. And the idea of having a motor in the back IS STUPID. 99% of Corvette owners do not race their cars on racetracks.

How much is the cost of a typical fast charge in Ontario? I’ve only seen videos comparing costs in the USA :)

Let me start by saying this was an excellent video as a person thinking of entering the EV market and the lyric to top it off. It really help me with some thoughts I had and concerns though it did not settle my concerns. I’m still undecided not sure if I have the patience, plus I feel it’s gonna cause me to spend more money while waiting then if I just stopped at a gas station, I think once the adapter is out for the Tesla stations, it won’t be as bad

Do other automakers EV's work in a similar fashion as GM's Ultium-based vehicles when they're left for extended periods?

Too much mental calculating to do a trip. There is no way my wife would ever go through all that planning. ICE cars may not be as efficient, but planning is so simple! Road trips are easier and faster.

On your first charging stop, you used the 350kw charger. Was that the only one available? If there were smaller chargers there, why would you plug into the 350kw when your batteries won't take that charge? Seems to me you are blocking other cars that could use the higher powered chargers.

This is the type of video I like to see revolving around EV's though it's worth mentioning that a lot of plotting apparently went into preparing for your trip. So until EV charging capacity approaches parity with gas stations they will be a hard sell for a lot of people.

Just had this installed, sounds great, looks great... one issue I am having is when the car is in V4, there is definitely drone.. even in Z mode it doesn't stop the V4 cylinder deactivation.. any thoughts??

When Phil begins adding oil to the C8, have him start by adding 7.5 instead of only 7. That way the engine is not running low (Needing more) while it warms up to operating temperature. Also, make sure he resets the oil life indicator.

Did he say if you buy the Zed07 you will get new tires as some don’t want racing slicks for a boat? I think maybe he said you get new tires for the Z07. English is a little different there so I am providing some Canadian to American translation for those who are also curious.

Great video, really appreciate your insight on the extended warranty. I just picked up my 2024 C8 at the dealership yesterday and purchased the 7 year 100 km warranty with 0 deductible as they never provided options with deductibles. I will be going back to the dealership because the price you paid for the same package with $100 deductible makes much more sense.

Maybe your Z06 allocation should have gone to one of your customers that are the 20 page waiting list. LOL

Sorry but it makes no sense to buy an extended warranty on a car that has a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. The time to buy an extended warranty is just before the BTB is about to expire. Sure, you pay more for an extended warranty by waiting but you don’t pay an extra three years and can zero return.

I thought the extended warranty started at in service date too like you stated. However, I was told it starts from the date you purchase the warranty.

I can fill up my suburban in Sarnia Ontario and almost make it to Bowling Green KY 150km short of getting there in one tank and I would get there in one day. Good video and has confirmed to me that the world is not ready for electric vehicles. This experience seemed frustrating can you imagine if everyone had one and you had to wait for an available charger. Disaster.

I got the gm pp total plus paid same but no deductible and 60k. It’s insurance for the car when being serviced, it’s basically insurance for your expenses corvette

I bought a 23 ay z51 in July of 2023. Do you know if I can by an extended warranty still. I didn’t buy an extended at the time of purchase. I thought the finance guy told me I could come back and buy a gm one at any point before the 3yr/36k ran out. Thanks.
